The biggest quarry exhibition in the world takes place between 26th and 28th June 2018. Tarmac, a leading sustainable building materials and construction specialist, will host the event at their Hillhead Quarry in Derbyshire. Over 500 companies will be exhibiting their plant, equipment, services and materials. JBP will be in attendance. Although we aren’t displaying our products, we will be looking for networking opportunities and exploring if we should exhibit Core6 GRP in the future.

Demonstrations

The highlight of Hillhead is the live demonstrations. Companies have the opportunity to show their latest products in practice. There are several different exhibition areas on the site as a result of the diverse array of products and services on show.

Quarry Face is a visitor favourite because it showcases large equipment such as massive excavators, 40 tonne plus shovels, and articulated dumptrucks. Expect to see some really incredible machinery at work.

Rock Processing looks at the next stage of the quarrying process. Here equipment such as crushers and stockpiling conveyors process the materials that are excavated.

The Recycling area is home to some very interesting equipment. The machinery demonstrates how to process as well as recycle waste from construction and demolition, concrete blocks, and asphalt.

Exhibitors

The list of companies exhibiting their products at Hillhead 2018 is extensive. It includes British as well as overseas suppliers. Names you can expect to see include JCB, Bobcat, Calor, Doosan, Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK) Ltd, Hyundai, Renault Trucks, and Terex Trucks. A number of exhibitors from 2016 will return and new companies will be making their first appearance.

While many companies will be doing live demonstrations of their equipment, others have static exhibits. Visitors have a great opportunity to speak to the companies and learn more about what they have to offer.

The great thing about Hillhead is the event happens once every 2 years because technology evolves so rapidly and exhibitors have many different things to show off. As a result, the exhibition is always interesting and insightful.
